Outlook 2003 new mail notifications don't work

Hi.

I installed Outlook 2003 over Outlook XP and now all "new
mail" notifications don't work anymore. No envelope icon
in systray, no sound, nothing. All atempts to reconfigure
them again in the Tools, Options, Preferences make no
effect.
Does anybody know how to make it work?

In Outook choose for help-> detect and repair...

there first.
