One of our laptops that is running Outlook 2003 on XP Pro is selectively
failing to retrieve some messages from the Exchange server. The messages are
clearly there if you access the account through OWA, and the user's
Blackberry downloads the messages, Outlook is just not downloading them. We
have an Exchange/Blackberry server that is hosted by a third party, so I can
perform limited administration on the server itself.
I renamed the OST file and had Outlook rebuild it from the server. It
downloaded the messages that it originally missed, but it continues to
selectively miss messages that have arrived after I recreated the OST file.
There is no pattern to the missed messages as far as I can tell. It may
download a message from a sender one time and fail to download another
message from the same sender the next time.
All our other email accounts on the same server are working fine, and
Outlook indicates that it is sending and receiving with errors on this
machine.
I have some Exchange experience, but nothing very in-depth. I would
appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,
Jennifer
