Outlook 2003 not notifying meeting organizer's of recipient respon

I am using MS Outlook 2003 and I received a meeting request. I clicked
"Accept" but I don't see the "Accept" response in my Sent Items. However,
when I reopen the original meeting request, it does confirm "Accepted on
8/21/2008 11:44 AM". The problems are 2 fold:

1. The meeting organizer (my co-worker) cannot see that I accepted the
meeting.
2. I don't see my response in my Sent Items.

Please advise. Thanks.
