When I try to use Word as my editor for Outlook I get a message:
"Microsoft Word is set to be your editor. However, Word is unavailable, not
installed, or is not thesame version as Outlook. The Outlook email editor
will be used instead"
I have tried "repairing" Outlook many times but to no avail.
Anyone any deas ??

This one can be a very tricky one to fix. Take a look here:

and read Russ Valentine's reply to a similar question. He cites several MSKB
articles that might or might not pertain to your problem:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q284900
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q319796
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q196871

He also offers advice if those don't prove fruitful.

If you manage to get it fixed, could you please post back here and let us
know what the solution was in your case? Thanks & good luck.

Hi Herb,
Thanks for your help.
I tried installing new .bat file and it ran ok with no apparent ill effects
but no imrovement either so still have the same problem and if you have any
further ideas I am willing to try it. My IT guy helped but although willing
he is not familiar with Office 2003 as the company only supports 2000 so
cannot help me much.
