Outlook 2003 Not Responding Message when logging off WINXP

Outlook 2003 / WINXP. Outlook works OK though a bit slow at times. We close
Outlook when finished (seemingly) without a problem. However, when logging
off Windows, we get a message that OUTLOOK.exe is not responding and given
the choice to wait or end now. (Waiting never helps - must choose 'end now'
to complete logging off Windows.

The PC is current with all patches / service packs. Have 2 user accounts on
this computer and the problem affects both. Have tried detect/repair and
problem still occurs. PST files aren't excessively large. Any ideas?
