Outlook 2003 "Not Responding"

Hello, I have Vista, Outlook 2003 that I have set up with IMAP and my gmail
account, my questions/issues are;

1. My Outlook 2003 keeps "Not Responding" and I have to close out and
re-open, this happens about 10 times a day, any thoughts or suggestions?

2. When I bcc: myself, I do not receive the message. I often bcc myslef for
follow up and paper trail, I realize I could just go into sent messages and
retrieve it but that is becoming a pain, any thoughts or suggestions?
