Hi,
I have a user who is connected to the network (work) via secure remote, the
mail server was down earlier today but now it should be working. But this
user at home is now unable to connect to the mail server as it says
disconnected or offline (cant remember) in the bottom right hand corner of
outlook. If user clicks on disconnected/offline nothing happens. Where is the
option in outlook to connect?

cheers in advance.

There's a Work Offline option/command on the File menu. Select it to toggle
the setting

Thanks for the response Vince, But i have looked there (maybee its the way
our outlook is set up here ) but in the tools list we dont have that option.
i was going to delete and add the user profile but she is at home so we are
having some problems checking her name against the server from home.
