We have Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2000, and a Windows 2000 AD Domain. All
workstations are XP SP2. We use the default security settings in Outlook so
that if a user is logged on under their Windows account and they open
Outlook, it does not prompt the user for their Windows user ID and password.
Yesterday I granted user "A" send on behalf permissions to user B's mailbox
and also set up user B's mailbox to forward all incoming mail to user A. I
also set up a separate profile on user A's PC so they could access user B's
mailbox. This all worked fine, except now, user A has to enter their
password every time they start Outlook even though they are logged on under
their Windows account. Today I completely undid all those settings, removed
all profiles from Outlook (user A's PC) and recreated user A's default
profile, made sure the user's account is not locked, and the user still gets
prompted for their user name and password when they start Outlook. I even
created an entirely new Windows XP profile folder for user A by renaming the
old profile directory while logged on as an admin, and user A still gets
prompted for their user name and password. Is there any way to fix this?
Many thanks in advance for your help!
