[Outlook 2003] Open a pst file

O

Océane Ly'rina

Hi,

I have installed Outlook 2003 because I have reinstalled my computer.
So Outlook created a .pst file somewhere on my computer.
But I have a backup of my previous pst folder, and I would like to use
this one, which is not in my profile folder (I do not want to storage
anything in my profile folder).

But when I open a .pst file with file / open / outlook data file, it opens
a new personal folder structure. I do not want a new structure, I want to
replace the previous personal folder by the new one, but I cannot close
the first personal folder, I can close only the new I add.

Anybody can help me? Thanks.

I have found a solution, I post it here so people can use this...

First, open your new .pst file.
Second, go into email accounts, and select to store emails in your second
personal folders.
Third, close and reopen outlook.
Fourth, close the second personal folder. (outlook switched the main and
secondary folders, so the second is now the one you do not want to keep)
