Outlook 2003 Outbox Message not italics

I am running Outlook 2003 and am linked to an exchange server which stores
messages and synchs them with my computer (OST file). Send and Receive for
most accounts are handled through a third party server (not the exchange
server) Yesterday, messages I send show up in the Outbox but are not in
italics and are not sent. I have tried deleting the OST file which reloads
from the exchange server when I open Outlook. I have tried new messages and
reply messages and they all show up in the Outbox in normal script, not
italics. Until yesterday, everything worked fine. What can I do?
