I am trying to import a file from my Outlook 97 to my new computer which has
Outlook 2003. I keep getting hung up on the password. I never had one on the
old file. I have burned several versions of the file and have even tried
putting a password on it.

No luck... can anyone help?

If the . PST file has no password and you can open it OK with Outlook 97,
try copying the file to the new computer and opening (instead of importing)
the file with Outlook 2003; 'File|Open |Outlook Data File'.

Hello,
Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't work... But you got me to thinking
and what I tried was exporting each component individually. First, I did the
export on the contacts list and it worked. I had to also make sure I
unchecked the encryption option in the window when I was working through the
menus. Once I got this to work I exported my personal folders.

Thank you for jogging my mind!
