Hi,

I have 2 .msg files that can be opened by Outlook 2003 with no service pack but with SP2 and SP3 I get the error "The operation failed. An object could not be found". Any help would be greatly appreciated

found a work around. I opened up the .msg files with outlook 2003 without any service packs which worked fine. Then I fowarded them from that outlook to another outlook with the SP and it worked!! I'd love to find out what's wrong because I can't be fowarding emails each time I want to read them.

There are some issues with the latest GDS (Google Desktop Search) and also
Windows Desktop search in Outlook 2003 SP3. It's not the SP that's the issue,
it's the search tools.

In your case since you're not using any desktop search, I'm unsure as to
what the issue could be.

another twist in this very sad tail - I found that if I drag the offending file in as an attatchment and then try to open it it opens fine!!!!!!!!!!! OH WHY OH WHY??
