Outlook 2003 professional issue

I have set up a rule in the past toautomatically delete spam versus moving it
to a folder. However, I found that I was not receiving all of the email that
I wanted. So I deleted that rule. Now when I hit send/receive button, it
shows that I am receiving 20 emails, but only 5 appear in my inbox. They are
not in junk nor deleted folder. just dissappearing? Any ideas on what to do?
reinstall ?

If you use Advanced Find and specify searching for Unread messages, do the
new mail items show up? If yes, where?
