Outlook 2003 prompts install of Office 2000 SR-1 Premium

A

amsherwin

I upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2003 version 11.0.6361.0; using W2k.
When I open certain email messages (primarily from Outlook Express users),
Windows Installer tries to install Office 2000 SR-1 Premium, and I get error
1706. Have searched the knowledge base but can't find an answer. Can I
safely uninstall 2000 SR-1 Premium? Or how can I solve this problem? I
don't still have the 2000 discs.

If you do not require any of the Office 2000 Premium programs that are not
included in newer versions, then, yes, you can uninstall Office 2000 Premium
from Add/Remove. Note that Office 2000 Premium includes FrontPage and
PhotoDraw, which you may want to keep. It also includes some FrontPage
Office Extensions that have been discontinued in newer versions of Office in
favor of SharePoint services.
