Outlook 2003 pst Files

I get an error that my pst files are cont compatible with this version of
Outlook. I am simply reloading OL 2003 and files after a disk crash.

If you haven't applied the latest Office 2003 service pack (which is SP3) or
security updates, apply them to see if you get the same error message.

A disk crash might also imply that you did something else to connect your
old data, and whatever you did was the wrong method

By disk crash I meant that my hard drive failed to boot properly after a
virus was cleared out.

The error message states that my files are not compatible with this version
of Outlook, even though they were created using that version. Scanpst fails
at stage 7.

I get an error message that the outlook or office version is not what was
expected.

You get this when trying to open the PST file or applying service
pack/security updates to Office 2003?

Other than that, the only time I have seen something close to this when
opening PST files is when trying to open an Outlook 2003/2007 PST file in an
earlier version of Outlook. Not sure if there are any incompatibilities in
PST files between Outlook 2003/2007 and the Office 2010 beta.

This is a fairly good indication that the PST has been damaged. If
SCANPST can't handle it, time to try a commercial tool.
