Outlook 2003 Remove MenuItems

Gnurff

Hi,

After installing Exact Globe 2003 an Outlook add-in is left. Because were in
a Server Based Computing enviroment we do not want Outlook to load this
add-in.

So far so good, we automaticly remove the add-in registry key during logon
and no add-in will be loaded.

But the menu bar item remains, so users are pointing to this menu and trying
to start de add-in. This causes an error.

I use an registry editor to find the keys that hold this menu bar item but
no succes.

Can you may-be help me to find a way to automaticly delete some menu bar
items from Outlook.

Kind regards

Menu customizations are stored in a file named Outcmd.dat, find and delete
that file and the next time Outlook is reopened it will re-create the file
without those menu items.

This is an example of a badly written COM addin. An Outlook addin should
always declare its buttons and menus as temporary and also delete them on
exit. So this procedure should not have to be done if the addin was written
correctly.
