Outlook 2003 replies via WRONG account, uses Default instead

This is a problem that a lot of people seem to have, but I've not see
anyone acutally post a real solution. Sorry if I just missed it - i
so please post a link, thanks.

Outlook 2003 often (not always) uses the WRONG account when doing
Reply. It chooses the DEFAULT account regardless of whether th
message came to that account or not. I've even manually changed i
back to the correct account, and had it send with the Default one.

I have two business affiliations, and it isn't good to have them ge
crossed over. Plus a number of personal accounts for various reasons
and they all have this behavior.

I thought I had it fixed by making sure that "Reply Email" in eac
account was explicitly set right (not blank), but that didn't do th
trick.

I've switched the Default account to the other business one, and th
problem flips over. These two accounts are totally separate
different user names, domains, passwords, servers, etc., everything.

I'm fully up to date per Microsoft Office Update. The details are X
Pro SP2, Outlook 2003 (11.6359.6360) SP1, Norton AV 2005 Liveupdate'ed

Here is the sequence of events:

I send a message from a NON-Default account.
I get a reply to that account, or get a message new from someone o
that account (OK so far - the To field is correct)
I click Reply, get a new screen, edit it and press Send (and I usuall
forget to look at the account it is using to send, which will often b
wrong - the Default account)
I get a reply to my message come in on the Default account showing
had replied using the Default account, and the email chain is hose
from then on.

Any ideas? (Besides giving up on Outlook?) Thanks
