was have problems when sending email so I decided to let Outlook fix itself.
I selected restore to default setting which did fix my problem BUT I didn't
expect to loose all my old email messages and folders. Is there any way I can
recover them?

And you don't have a back up, right? You may have created a new, empty,
..pst file. Search for outlook.pst with hidden files enabled to find the
one you lost and then, using Mail in the control panel, reconnect it.

Of course not :-(, I’ve reinstall Microsoft programs in the past and my data
was always there. Guess I got spoiled, I’ll try what you said but can you be
more specific about using the control panel? Thank you for the reply Ron

Now you know that back up is a computer user's best friend ;-)

Double click on the Icon called Mail and use the Data File feature to
browse to and reconnect the .pst. This assumes you've found it, of course.
