I know that the same problem was reported late last year... but it's still a
problem:
I'm running Outlook 2003 on a Dell XPS, 3.4 GhZ, 2GB RAM, XP SP2 - fully
updated as of 1/22/06. It's running on a stand-alone PC.
Outlook is running slowly when trying to create a new email (clicking on New
at top left it takes 5 seconds to open. But, moving from Mail to Calender to
Contacts takes no time, and moving within mail directories takes very little
time.
I don't have freezing or other problems.
Also (far less important), when Outlook is first turned on in the morning,
sometimes it will not go out for mail without prompting (it's programmed to
fetch mail every 1 minute), and when mail arrives, sometimes it does not
chime -- but often it does. Windows Sounds, and volume, are properly set.
Once it goes out for mail the first time, it continues to do so throughout
the day. Is this somewhat erratic behavior common?
THANKS!
