Outlook 2003 Send/Receive

I am using Outlook 2003 and downloading my email using POP/SMTP. Upon
performing
the send/receive function my email shows that it is downloading messages
properly
and then complete. However, no new email shows up in the inbox until the
next day.
I know that I do have new email because I can access the provider online
and view
them. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
