Outlook 2003-server: settings time-out and number of connections

Dear,

can someone explain the effects of changing the standard settings of 32
connections to 64. Also there seems to be a link with the high number of
connections that is standard from the client to the server: it looks like for
every server/mailbox there are 2 connections opened. This implements that
only 16 people can connect to the mailbox!

Another issue is is the time-out time.
What is the effect when bringing this down from 2 hrs. to 5 minutes?
We work with multiple mailboxes attached to a general/functional account.
If someone sees that a new mail arrives at the sign (1) the mailbox is
opened, but what happens if the time-out time is active, do you still see
that change of number from incomming mail?

Thanks,

H

There is no Outlook 2003 server that I'm aware of. Are you, by chance,
referring to Exchange Server 2003?
