When a message is moved to a file, either manually or by a rule action,
Outlook shuts down. I get the "Outlook has encountered a problem..." message,
but no further info. It can and does write the data to the .pst file, and no
data is lost, but the constant shutting down renders the program unusable.
I am using Office 2003 Professional and Windows xp Pro. I used to use Office
2000 but uninstalled it before installing 2003. I should have but did not
remove all traces of 2000, including the old and incompatable data file.
I tried creating a new .pst, setting it as default, and deleting all others,
but the problem remains. I can use Outlook as long as everything gets sent
only to the inbox. When a message arrives that Outlook puts in the junk
folder, Outlook shuts down.
