Recently received a new replacement Inspiron 6400 laptop from Dell. It's
identical to the original it replaces. Both laptops are members of a Windows
Server 2003 domain. Everything works fine after initial setup including all
domain shares, printers, and applications such as Excel, Word, etc. However,
when I login to the new laptop and launch Outlook, Outlook is painfully slow
and uses around 50% of CPU time. On the old laptop with the same (roaming)
profile, it works fine. Both versions of Outlook are completely patched and
current. Running regmon indicates repeated access to these registry entries:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Custom Forms\Read
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar\OnlineMtgDef
HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Nls\Locale\00001009
HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Nls\Language Groups\1
HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Nls\Local\00000409
HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Nls\Language Groups\1
I've checked the values of these keys with the working laptop and see
nothing different. Can anyone shed some light on what the problem might be?
