Outlook 2003 slow opening some emails

Rusty

Hi

I have a user, using Outlook 2003, accessing an Exchange 2003 server who is
having trouble opening some emails. When Outlook opens the message headers
all appear OK, but when clicking on a message to open, some take upto 6-7
seconds to open. Other messages open straight away, there seem to be no
reason for the difference. This happens evey time you open the same email.
All the messages are HTML format, some have
attachment, some don't.

The problem also occurs when accessing archived messages in a pst file.

Both the Exchange server and Outlook have the latest service packs and
updates. The problem is not evident on any other machine in the network, all
using the some configuration.

The problem being, the machine belongs to the Managing Director so the issue
needs to be resolved.

I am thinking it is some setting in Outlook which has been changed but don't
know which one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Does the user have the automatic downloading of images disabled?

Hi Milly

Yes, automatic downloading of images is disabled except for the defaults of
safe senders.
