Good Afternoon Everyone,
We're running Exchange 2003 on the server and have (2) clients running
Office 2003 and the rest are running Office XP. Note: We all are running
Windows XP. It's my boss and I that use Office 2003. We both have serious
problems with Outlook 2003. I've got probably the fastest machine in the
office and there are so many delays when working in outlook and it locks up
and hangs when I'm not even working in it(min. in the tray).
Outlook 2003 is just too slow. I've checked with other users in the office
that are using Outlook XP(2002) but none of them are having problems with
performance or the lack there of with Outlook.
I'm running the latest Office 2003 service pack. Can anyone help? If you
ask which part of outlook, it's every part we go to.
Slow and hangs when deleting emails, or scrolling through emails, when I try
to send and email and click on the To: button to open the address book it
hangs, sometimes I'll be on the internet or another application and I'll
click on the Outlook icon min. in my tray and it doesn't open because it's
connecting to the Exchange server or doing something that I forbade it not
to do! (smile)
We've tried using cache mode and non cache mode and it still is very slow.
I've gotten to the point of resetting my computer almost every day and that
seems to help for most of the day.
I keep getting this messages at times in the lower right corner of the
screen connecting to exchange server or lost connection or something.
I don't think this is an Exchange issue because Office XP clients have no
complaints. Only the computers running Outlook 2003 are having these lack of
performance problems. Now please note I don't think Outlook 2003 has locked
up where I can't do anything. It just hangs for a few seconds and then does
the action I want it to do. Can anyone help please? It's getting on my
bosses nerves and I told him I may have to switch him back to Outlook 2002
and he didn't like that because he does like the look and features of the
new version.
Thanks!
