I have been getting SMTP server timeouts that cause
Outlook to retransmit the messages. These timeouts
generally occur only when large attachments are
included. The result is a circumstance where I sent
Visio drawings to a client the other day and they got 60
copies !!!!
I tried to get the hotfix for this, but ended up with
Outlook/Office 2003 instead. Guess what? Same problem.
Doesn't Microsoft fix known existing problems with new
releases? This problem was originally "hotfixed" in 2002
or early 2003. But it's not included in service packs
for XP. I've downloaded every service pack/update for
Outlook/Office 2003 that exists. No cure.
How do I get it fixed? It occurs randomly, near as I can
tell, and only with one of the mail services I use.
They're using a standard SMTP system that ONLY has this
problem with some outlook users.
