Outlook 2003 SP1 and "unable to display folder' issue

Hi,

I'm getting the following message on several systems - "Unable to display
the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook could not access the specified folder
location. The operation failed." when trying to access public folders on the
exchange server.

I've narrowed it down to being specifically linked to Office 2003 SP1, since
if I uninstall O2K3 and re-install but do not apply SP1, the program works
fine. The moment I install SP1, I get the above message and cannot access
any public folders. I remember there used to be a similar problem with
Outlook 2002, but I thought they'd fixed it. Is it back with SP1 for O2K3?
Google turned up a few posts in various places reporting the same problem
with SP1, but no solutions. Hoping someone here has come across this and has
a solution, or even some suggestions.

All these computers are running Windows XP with all current updates except
SP2; the one computer that does have XP SP2 installed is showing the same
behaviour with O2K3 SP1.

Hello Amer,
Please verify the following on the Exchange server you are connecting to:
Right click "Public Folders" in Exchange System Manager and click
Properties.
In the Properties dialog select Security. Make sure the Everyone group has
"create named properties in the information store" allowed with NO Denies.

Hi Gwen,

Yes it is. Currently I'm working with PSS on this issue to try and figure
what's going on, since it's specifically linked to the combo of Windows XP
Pro and O2K3 SP1. The users can access the public folders via OWA, and when
they use one of the comuters with O2K, O2K2, or O2K3 installed pre-SP1, w/o
problems - but ANY user who uses the stations at the office that have the XP
Pro and O2K3 SP1 combo experience the same issue with the public folders. I
ended up contacting PSS since I was at my wits end, and no one on any of the
groups, or admin lists, seemed to have come across anything like this.

Thanks for your feedback though - you're one of the few responses I've had
anywhere :-/...
