Hi
I seem to have quite a few problems with Outlook 'dropping' connections with
IMAP servers. I have my Exchange account and three IMAP accounts. Quite often
Outlook will say that the connection has been terminated and will not try to
reconnect. Despite trying "File > Connect to ..." it does not even try to
make a connection - as in no network conection tried to the IMAP server!
When I was using Outlook Express, it was able to service those accounts and
more - but Outlook seems intent on dropping the connections - no other
changes apart from swapping the client. I do have access to full logs on both
end if required.
The error received on the Outlook end is: "
'Checking for new mail in subscribed folders on xxx.' reported error
(0x8004DF0B) : 'Outlook is unable to download folder (null) from the IMAP
e-mail server account xxx......."
The reason why it is (null) is because it is not even try to connect to the
server!
After many clicks on "File > Connect to xxx" it may decide to come on-line
again...
Any help would be appreciated
