You can start by opening any Office Program (Word is fine) and select the
option to repair your installation. Help->Detect and Repair. Check the
option to restore shortcuts.
If that does not work, try running scanpst.exe against your .pst flie (it is
a hidden file)
If none of the above work, try creating a new mail profile - Control
Panel->Mail Icon->Profiles->New. Do not copy your old one. Configure it to
connect to your current active .pst file.
