Outlook 2003 Storage Recovery.

Working on a Networked PC, I have had to reinstall Windows (XP Pro SP2) on a
new HDD, leaving the old HDD with all data in tact as a slave. On
reinstalling Outlook 2003, the only messages I can find on the old HDD are
in .pst files dating back to 2003. Can anybody point me in the direction of
the folder where recent messages would be stored, please?

Many thanks

They should also be in PST files but make sure you check in all folder,
especially hidden ones

Many thanks for the quick reply- I've searched the entire machine (hidden
and system files shown) but it still only shows the old .pst's.

Check the default location (Windows 2000 and Windows XP);
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\
But then perhaps they were on the Network?

Thanks again, but I've checked the entire HDD (inc the C:\Documents and
Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\
folders) for .pst files. How do I locate them if they were on the network
drive?

I dont believe there is an easy answer, you would have to search all
locations for *.pst files.
PS The use of a pst over the network isnt supported, as it can lead to
corruption.

I assume OL wasnt set up in Exchange config and thus used ost files?

Didn't think there would be, but thanks anyway. I'll try the ost/Exchange
answer, but I didn't set the machine up initally so I won't hold my breath!
Are the any other file extensions I might look for while I'm at it?
