Outlook 2003 Student/Teacher Edition Problem

I have recently installed Outlook 2003 Student/Teacher Edition on a new PC with XP Pro as its operating system. The problem is that with Outlook open (say, as when using the e-mail feature), "Calendar" self-opens repeatedly, until up to about 40 Calendar windows are open. It is impossible to close one Calendar window (clicking the "x" in the upper right-hand corner) without another 1 or more Calendar windows automatically opening. I can close the "group" of Calendar windows together (right-clicking on the task bar), but then the Calendar window-opening frenzy self-starts again, and I have to repeat the process. I made the new installation on top of (upgrading from) Office 2002 Small Business Edition. Any ideas/suggestions?
