Hi all,
I hope someone can help me! I am having an issue with outlook 2003.
I was using outlook 2003 in conjuction with a local exchange server.
am changing this setup and want to use a external server. The loca
computer I am using is logged onto the local domain controller (als
the exchange server).
So before I was logging onto the computer, which would then also assig
my exchange account and I would not need to log onto this as it uses m
domain username and password.
I copied all the old emails to a local PST folder, then i removed th
server exchange account.
I have all the details for the remote server exchange account
Username, domain, server name and of course password, but I cannot ge
onto the remote account using exchange.
I know the remote account works, as i have got it working on my mobil
device. My mobile device connects to it, even when inside the networ
with the computer, so its not the firewall.
When I start outlook 2003, it is still trying to connect to the loca
exchange server, then it tries the external server, but will no
connect. I am not sure, but I think it is because it is using the loca
domain "WELLAND" where as the remote provider specifies the domai
"exchange".
So how can I stop the local version of outlook looking at the exchang
server and to use the remote server.
If possible, I do not want to leave the local domain.
All help greatly appreciated.
Regards
Charli
