Outlook 2003/Terminalserver: No sound notification for incoming ma

We have Office 2003 Standard (SP3) locally installed on our Windows Server
2003 Terminal Servers (SP2). When configuring sound notification in Outlook
2003 and via control panel/sounds, it doesn't work, when a new mail arrives.
If i use Outlook express with the same settings in control panel/sounds, the
configured soundfile (notification.wav) is played when a new mail arrives.
Any hints for me?

PS.:

Manually configuring an inbox rule to play a certain sound for all incoming
emails works!
