Outlook 2003: unable to enter new appt in Calendar

Ran repair and all updates. The menu item and shortcuts are there for
entering new appts but no window opens. Program is not aware that it isn't
doing it. Short of a full reinstallation of Office 2003.....any ideas would
be welcome. Program had been working.
