I installed Outlook 2003 over the top of Outlook 2000. It
seemed to be a smooth transition (even though I know
better-and normally would do a clean install) I have a
default dial up ISP e-mail account plus 5 other e-mail
accounts using the the ISP's outgoing mail server. First
I had a problem composing new mail only and undelivered
mail.
All internet e-mail settings are configured properly and
work with a test e-mail.
Looked at Contact properties and unchecked 'automatically
generate Microsoft Exchange views' I am still having e-
mails not being sent out.
I uninstalled Office 2003, re-installed. Still at times
mail is not going out. 'Administrator undeliverable
message553 To send mail, first check your mail with a
valid POP account; this prevents unauthorized SPAM
relaying. (#5.7.1)-'
I then checked the e-mail account (main-default) and
checked Internet E-mail Settings/Outgoing Server 'Outgoing
Server SMTP requires authorization' & 'log on to incoming
mail server before serving mail' {Thinking maybe as I
have read online-it could be my ISP with a SPAM stopper
thinking I am using the SMTP for spam e-mail addresses.}
I just looked in the registry and see it is possible I
might have duplicate reg entries (Outlook 2000) which were
not removed by Outlook 2003. Have no idea is this has
anything to do with anything here.
I DO NOT USE EXCHANGE SERVER. Outlook 2000 let a choice be
made for installing CWG or I/O. I had no choices here for
Outlook 2003. Is this something I can change?
This is driving me crazy. It does not happen with every e-
mail. Now, it can happen to any account, with reply,
forward through contact or manual typing in of an e-mail
address.
HELP!
