I have a user with 7,000+ mail items, and several archived files (in separate
PSTs on server). He has a lot of 4-5 MB attachments in his system (we run an
Exchange Server 2003), mail is cached.
He works using RDC sometimes, and leaves his mailbox open when he finished,
just closing the RDC window (as it takes so long to reopen)
When he does close out of Outlook, and reopens it, it goes into "Outlook was
not closed properly, Checking Mailbox..." and takes 5-15 minutes to open
again.
When he gets it open, he has to wait for a long time to download his mail
from a POP3 server (separate mail account), where it goes into the Exchange
Inbox for delivery.
All our users are setup the same, and he is the only one with this problem.
Windows XP SP2
Outlook 2003, current SPs installed
No AV software or spyware scanning.
Since he is the company Pres., and has VERY little time in the office, this
slowness is causing him (and therefor ME) a large amount of stress.
I know it is better to use Exchange only, but we are not at that point yet,
and as it works well for everyone else, that does not seem to be the MAIN
issue here.
More info needed?
Thanks
