Outlook 2003 very unstable / Business Contacts Manager missing

Two problems - any advice most welcome

Firstly, Outlook 2003 seems to be so unstable on my PC (HP Pavilion, lots of memory, 512 MB, Pentium 4, XP Home Edition), I reformatted my hard drive and reloaded all my software twice - all around my need to use Outlook 2003! Guess what? Every piece of software I posses now works swimmingly.... except Outlook 2003 :)!!! Even now it still refuses to open on occasions, refuses to close (icon appears on right side of task bar where you can see open programs even when I've closed it), and if I reboot it gives me an error message saying it has to check my Personal Folder as it wasn't shut down properly. I've lost count of how often the "send error message to Microsoft?" message appears: they probably think I'm spamming 'em :)! All hardly stuff one expects from a brand new piece of software

Also, althought I have Office 2003 Professional (which the blurb claims comes with Business Contacts Manager), there is no sign of Business Contacts Manager anywhere on the CD! Is the blurb a misprint or do I have a dud CD

Thanks!

BCM comes on a 2nd CD in the Office Pro or Office Small Business Edition
retail package.

You might want to try a Help | Detect and Repair on Outlook and/or a new
profile.

Thanks Sue

Sadly the problem appears to be major. I have now sent close to 50 Error Message Reports to Microsoft (no reply, no surprise...). Every time I open it and close it an icon remains in the bottom RH corner, and if I try to load it again it simply put another "Not responding" message in the Task Manager. I have not loaded anything remotely unusual, and only rebuilt my PC today, so I have to imagine Microsoft have a MONUMENTAL clash with a popular piece of software

Sadly, I'm no computer wizard, so I am stuck loading their latest software and wondering why it doesn't work like every other piece of software I have loaded with no trouble at all....

"an icon"? What icon? You mean Outlook? newsgroup interface you are using
apparently does not quote earlier messages in the thread, making your latest
message so short on detail that you risk not getting the answer you're
looking for. Please take the time to quote the original message.

Fax and PDA sync software may start Outlook without UI and keep it open
after the UI closes.
