Outlook 2003 Visual Basic Editor / Macros Crash (solution!)

I have seen this issue posted before. I have not found any working
solutions posted. I finally solved the problem! Below I will list my
configuration, what I did to solve the problem, what I experienced
through it all and some tips for more proficient resolution of the
problem.

Problem: Every time I tried to open the Macro editor or Visual Basic
Editor in Outlook 2003, Outlook would crash/restart itself.

Configuration: I think this might have been the key to the problem. I
had originally installed Office XP. Then I installed Office 2003 and
chose to leave the XP installed. (I'm pretty sure this was the cause
of the problem).

Quick Solution: Uninstall Office XP and Reinstall/Repair the Office
2003 installation.

What I experienced:
1. On a whim, I ran Outlook XP and opened that Visual Basic Editor. It
ran with out a problem.
2. Then I closed Outlook XP and opened Outlook 2003. It would not open
correctly and just kept restarting.
3. I began to panic.
4. I uninstalled Office XP.
5. Then I opened Outlook 2003, it opened and stayed opened but it threw
some errors about a missing vba dll (or something similar).
6. Then I reinstalled/repaired Office 2003.
7. Then I opened Outlook 2003. No problems!
8. Then I opened the VBA editor. No problems!
9. Then I opened the Macros tool. No problems!

Problem solved!

Hints for better resolution:
1. Backup your Office data files for safety.
2. Skip steps 1, 2, 3 and 5 above... especially the one about
panicking!

I'm curious if this helps at all. If it does drop me a note at
(e-mail address removed).
