About two weeks ago, Outlook 2003 stopped responding to double clicked
e-mail addresses. Outlook would not open a new email. I'd get an
"unspecified
error" message. So I un/re installed Office Pro 2003 and XP Svc pack 3. a
couple of times and reloaded the regsrv32 vbscript.dll "sucessfully."
All office programs work fine EXCEPT FOR OUTLOOK. When outlook
begins to open, I get a "configuring outlook" popup, then the "Failed to
register a VB Script DLL. Reinstall or run Regsvr32.exe Vbscript.dll to self
register. A requested action was not successful do to "AN UNSPECIFIED
ERROR."
I can't get past the first screen or two. The Outlook screen opens
with the color logo and a box "Configure Outlook" with a couple of tasks
listed. Outlook.exe /safe and other switches do not work. I've cleared out
all profiles - everything but my .pst files.
How do I fix it - my life is in those Outlook .psts?
I've seen and tried solutions offered in many posts around the net regarding
this but have yet to see a real solution. HELP!
