Outlook 2003 will not open when I click on email link in a browse.

Outlook 2003 is my default email application but before I installed Outlook
2003 (as part of Office 2003) I used Mozilla Firebird. Since changing to
Outlook, when I click on an email link in my browser (IE7 or Firefox 2.0)
Outlook will not open. I just get an MS Outlook error msg saying "Can't
vreate the item." (I have uninstalled Firebird)
I have changed the default email ap in Outlook and in Windows "Set Access
and Defaults."
Can anybody please help?
