Outlook 2003 will not start correctly - Please Help!!

Greetings,
Everytime I start Outlook 2003, it opens up as if it was going to start
normally, with all of my folders; however, the Windows Installer commences
and I receive this error:
Error 1901. Setup cannot read file C:\WINDOWS\Installer\a7a6a4a.msp. Check
your connection to the network, or CD-ROM drive. For other potential
solutions to this problem, see C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE11\1033\SETUP.CHM.

This is what is in the Applications Log Event ID 11901
Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 -- Error 1901. Setup

What changed on your PC between when it worked and now? Did you install a
new hard drive?

There was an Automatic update that was performed just before it started
behaving like this... BTW I'm running XP Professional on my Dell Demension
610.

There has not been any hardware changed done to this laptop.

Does the file mentioned in the error message exist? Have you tried doing a
repair install via Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs with the installation
CD in the CD drive?
