Outlook 2003 Windows Issue

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC

Sorry to post this here, but I'm not sure of where to post issues with Microsoft Office for Windows issues. I also own & use Office 2008: mac, so I am an Office: mac user as well. And since we've seen other Windows issues here I hope it doesn't hurt to have one more. :)

In addition to my Mac, I have a PC running Vista Home Premium SP1 & Office 2007, except for Outlook which is 2003 (I have Office 2007 Home & Student plus Visio Standard & Accounting Express).

I recently setup a GMail account in Outlook in which I typed in the wrong information. I then deleted the account. However, it didn't remove the IMAP folders associated with the GMail account. Now when I go to close the GMail folders, I get the following error message:

The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook.

I've talked with my PC manufacturer, & they aren't sure what's wrong. I can create a new GMail account, but the old folders still remain there & won't close.

Does anyone know what I need to do to get these folders to close? I'd hate to have to reinstall Outlook if I don't have to.

Again, sorry I posted this here. Just not sure where I could post this & needed help.

Thanks!

Hi Nathan -

Not trying to "pawn you off", but Outlook is a totally different animal than
anything in the Mac Office suite & Vista, of course, works differently than
OS X, so although many Office issues can be handled from either side I'm
afraid this isn't one of them. It's possible that someone may come along,
but you'll probably get a more prompt response if you work from here:

I'd think the Outlook> Install & Configure group might be the best bet... Or
at least they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks for pointing me to this link. Yeah, I was hoping someone like you would come along & point me in the right direction. I knew there had to be some place else to post my Outlook issue. Thanks for pointing me there!
