Outlook 2003

Quick Question:
I use Outlook 2003, Win XP, as a contact manager.
I have automated some of the tasks using MS Word to compose my emails (I
selected this option when I set up).

If I initiate an email to a contact while in Outlook, my full MS Word comes
up.
I have an Autotext/Macro set up to display a group of commonly used letters.

Is there a way to have the contact's first name (who I am writing the email
to) inserted at the salutation? Dear <<first name>> or something like that.
I just want to do this one email/letter at a time as I talk to folks
throughout the day. this is not a mail merge scenario.

Thanks
Scott
p.s. I have used ACT and Goldmine extensively and my new firm only uses
Outlook....this and form design are very tough on Outlook based on the type
of phone based business we have.
