Outlook 2003

I just installed Office 2003 Professional Edition and Outlook 2003 will not
let me configure my e-mail account settings, it says there is a problem with
the registry or installation. I reinstalled Office and no luck. Any
solutions? Thanks.

How are you trying to set up your mail account? Have you tried Detect and
Repair from any Office application's Help menu?

I just tried that and it still will not let me set up an e-mail account. It
says there is a registry problem and to reinstall Office. Tried that again
no luck. Outlook express works fine though. Any more advice? Thanks.

Also I had Office XP previously installed and Outlook worked fine if that
matters. Thanks again for the help.

Repeat, HOW are you trying to install a mail account? Have you tried a new
mail profile?

To make a long story short, I just upgraded from Office XP to Office 2003
Professional edition. I thought my e-mail accounts would carry over but I
can't get Outlook to send or recive, so I tried to get to my account settings
to see what the problem was. When I go to tools/e-mail accounts and I get
an error that states The operation failed due to a registry or installation
problem. Restart Outlook and try again. If the problem persists, please
reinstall.

Then try it through Control Panel->Mail Icon->Profiles. Create a new
profile and configure it to use your current .pst file.

I don't see any evidence you tried a new mail profile. Control
Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>Add
