Outlook 2003

I am disappointed that Outlook 2003, that I purchased at full price after I
could not get help from Dell, cannot be configured to accept e-mails from an
Apple computer.

Just exactly where does the Apple computer fit into the scheme of
things? Outlook 2003 doesn't install on Apple computers. And Outlook
(like any other e-mail client) retrieves e-mail from an e-mail server.
Apple computers aren't e-mail servers.

Actually Outlook 2003 installs very well on Apple computers. However that is
not the point. The point is Microsoft has chosen not to receive e-mails from
the Apple community. Apple, on the other hand receives e-mails from everyone
big and small.

I have both an Apple and a PC and I cannot send an e-mail from my PC to my
Apple.

If the client handles the mail protocols properly then the messages will be
sent and receive properly regardless of the manufacturer of the PC. I receive
messages sent from Apples on my Windows PC with Outlook 2003 just fine.
There's no conspiracy by Microsoft to make mail from Apples unavailable.

Then you have something improperly configured.

Thank you for the feedback. Do you have any suggestions. Microsoft wants
$259.00 to talk to me.

I'm sure we can at least start to discover what's going on. You'll have to be
very explicit in describing the symptoms, however. What type of account are
you using on both the PC and the Mac? Is it POP, IMAP, Hotmail? How did you
configure the account in Outlook? Is the address of the account on the Mac
the same as the address of the account on the PC? Do you receive any error
messages during the send/receive process? Does the message arrive and is not
readable or does the message not arrive at all? Does the message arrive in
the mailbox on the server and doesn't transfer to Outlook or does it never
arrive on the server? Can you send from the PC and receive the message on the
Mac? If you use the Test button in the account setup dialogue, what do you
see? If you break down the interaction between the Mac and its server and
between thge PC and its server and examine the various processes involved,
there's bound to be a clue that indicates which process is failing and why.
