Outlook 2003

Hi,

This question has been asked before, but i would like to have a
discussion on it again. i want to DISABLE "Open other User's Folder" in
my Outlook 2003. I know the need for it and how useful it is, but in my
organization people often end up putting wrong permissions and others
can open their mailboxes and read all their emails.

i have a feeling there has to be some way by which this feature can be
blocked from Outlook 2003. I tried the Outlook 2003 Administrative
Control from the Group Policy and all but it is not present there.
There has to be some entry in the registry that we can add that would
disable this option, just like the recover deleted items gets enabled
after adding the relevant fields in the registry.

Please advise,

Regards.

You can indeed disable any menu or toolbar command by using a Group Policy Object. The article at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011402401033.aspx explains how; look at the section on "Disabling menu items and command bar buttons." The ID for that command is 1863.
