AFAIK, there is no Outlook 2004 for Macintosh...

The latest version is Outlook 2001 which runs in OS9/Classic.

Outlook 2004 will never be released at all, because MS renamed the product
Entourage, which for X I believe serves the purposes of both Outlook as an
Exchange server and Outlook Express as a personal mail client. I think the
people who might know what Entourage 2004 will be able to do can't tell you,
but you can sign up for notifications about the new Office 2004 here,

And see if mactopia.com is helpful (probably not).

Don't think so - there's been no announcement, at least. Office2004 will
be released this spring, but it doesn't include a version of Outlook (it
does include Entourage).

Only a few features of Office 2004 have been released, and MAPI support
isn't mentioned, AFAIK.

No!

It's highly doubtful that Microsoft will ever support MAPI in Entourage.
