Outlook 2007: All messages in Preview Pane are Plain Text...Why?

Hi, my settings (Tools/Options/MailFormat/IntenetFormat) are set to Rich
Text. How come all the messages received in my inbox are converted to Plain
Text?
I use the Preview Pane, and the text shown is Plain Text...why?

I have tested this by sending formatted tex messages to myself from my
Outlook email and from non-Outlook accounts. Messages are converted from
formatted text to plain text.

I want to retain the message formatting, the images that are included in the
body of the email, etc.

What settings do I need to change?

I am running XP, SP3, AVG.
Thanks in advance for any comments + suggestions.

Try disabling or uninstalling AVG's outlook integration. Antivirus scanners
will causes issues such as you see.
