outlook 2007 and/or WDS?

hi there - i have just installed office 2007 and found WDS integrated
into outlook, which is great.

i had WDS 3.1 already installed and indexing all of my mail archives.

now i can't understand if outlook 2007 has its own index and all, and
the "desktop" version keeps updating its own "old" index anyway... or
not!

shall i uninstall WDS?
shall i tell WDS not to do anymore indexing, as outlook does it?

quite unclear to me, any help is welcome!

thanks,

The engine is the same so no need to uninstall it. At most it may re-index
the email.

it does - outlook has shown a "indexing in progress" status for a
while.
i'm afraid that is a different index from the WDS one, which was still
ok...???

I believe it will reindex it - and if the mailbox is large it can take
awhile. I don't know if it might be faster to delete the index and let WDS
redo it completely.

I have been using Outlook 2007 for three weeks now, and it looks like
it's using
two separate indexes.

If I query Outlook and WDS for the index status, they keep giving me
different
figures...!!!

I'd be glad disabling the WDS one, as long as that doesn't stop
Outlook's indexing
in any way.

Can anybody confirm?

Thanks
