Outlook 2007 and resources

I've installed Outlook 2007 "clean" on a new XP clean install. Seems
to run just fine. One "feature" I've noticed is that Outlook doesn't
seem to shut down totally. Even after closing the app, it stays memory
resident and continues to receive new mail and gives me the envelope
icon in the task bar. In viewing the processes, it still remains.

After opening and closing several times, it then appears to close and
no longer takes up any processes or resources.

I'm guessing this is a bug.

Anything I could try to get it to properly shut down each time I close
outlook?

Try disabling any add-ins that you're running. Tools | Trust Center | Add-ins, under the Manage section at the bottom.

Running any applications that integrate with Outlook? Disable this
integration and try again. FWIW you should disable all add-ins for this BETA
as not many add-ins have been updated to work with Outlook 2007 yet.

Look into your add-ins and see if any there are keeping Outlook open. Or
do you have ActiveSync installed?
It could also be that it is trying to index and didn't like the idea of
you shutting it down. Leave it open over night, then reboot and reopen
it and test again.
